President of Uzbekistan Departs for Washington to Meet Donald Trump

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The official visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the State of Qatar has successfully concluded.

During his stay, the President participated in the Second World Summit on Social Development, presenting a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening global cooperation in sustainable and inclusive social progress and improving socio-economic development.

In Doha, President Mirziyoyev held productive talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, discussing the expansion of bilateral strategic partnership and prospects for cooperation across various sectors. At Hamad International Airport, the President was seen off by the Deputy Prime Minister, State Minister for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and other officials.

At the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Washington for a working visit to participate in the Central Asia–U.S. Leaders Summit under the “C5+1” format. During the visit, meetings are scheduled with the U.S. President, members of the Senate and House of Representatives, as well as heads of ministries and agencies.

Special attention will be given to further expanding and strengthening Uzbek-American strategic partnership relations, including in trade, economic, investment, and humanitarian areas, as well as deepening interregional cooperation between Central Asia and the United States. The business program includes events with leaders of major American companies and financial institutions.

The visit is expected to culminate in the signing of several bilateral and multilateral agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
