President of Uzbekistan Departs for Pakistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 February, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, embarked on a state visit to Pakistan at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif.

During his stay in Islamabad, high-level talks are scheduled, including the first meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council between the two countries. The sides plan to discuss measures to further strengthen Uzbek-Pakistani friendship and strategic partnership, as well as to develop joint initiatives in political, economic, and humanitarian spheres.

The summit is expected to conclude with the signing of a Joint Declaration and a package of bilateral documents aimed at expanding cooperation. The President’s itinerary also includes participation in a joint business forum and other events designed to promote economic and investment ties between the two countries.
