President of Uzbekistan Becomes Honorary Doctor and Professor of a Leading Pakistani University
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the first meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council, a ceremonial event was held to confer the honorary titles of Doctor and Professor of Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology on President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The corresponding certificate was presented to the head of the Uzbek state by Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif.
The honorary titles were awarded in recognition of the President of Uzbekistan’s outstanding contribution to the implementation of socio-economic and educational reforms, ensuring the country’s sustainable modernization, advancing science and technology, as well as for his active role in strengthening international cooperation and expanding academic ties.
During the ceremony, Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, the university’s leadership, and its academic community for the high appreciation of his work. The President emphasized the importance of further deepening Uzbekistan–Pakistan cooperation in the fields of education, science, and the training of highly qualified professionals.
Founded in 1991, Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology is one of the country’s leading higher education institutions. The university integrates educational, research, and innovation activities, provides master’s and doctoral training, and actively develops applied research focused on the needs of industry and the economy.
