President of Uzbekistan Awards Khayriddin Sultanov the Title of “People’s Writer”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has conferred the honorary title of “O‘zbekiston Respublikasi Xalq Yozuvchisi” (People’s Writer of Uzbekistan) on Khayriddin Sultanov.
The corresponding decree was signed on January 19, 2026, in celebration of the writer’s 70th birthday.
The award recognizes Sultanov’s many years of fruitful work in state institutions, his significant contribution to the development of national literature and culture, and his distinctive creative talent.
The decree notes that through his works, Sultanov enriches the treasury of Uzbek literature with vivid pieces on historical and contemporary themes, fosters the upbringing of younger generations in the spirit of love for the homeland and dedication to the ideals of independence, and actively participates in the socio-political life of the country.
Special attention is given to Sultanov’s contributions in explaining the essence of ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan and enhancing the spiritual and intellectual potential of the people.
