Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, arrived in the city of Turkmenbashi on 5 August.

The head of our state was met by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev and other officials.

As it was reported earlier, tomorrow, on 6 August, the next Consultative meeting of the heads of states of Central Asia will take place in the national tourist zone "Avaza".

The initiative to hold regular summits of leaders of Central Asian countries was put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017 at the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly. It was supported by all the neighbors of Uzbekistan. The first summit took place in March 2019 in the capital of Kazakhstan Nur-Sultan, the second in November 2019 in the city of Tashkent.

At the next meeting, the results of the implementation of the previously reached agreements will be considered. The participants will discuss the issues of stable and sustainable development in the region, increasing trade, creating favorable conditions for partnership in the energy sector, expanding cooperation in the transport and communications field, consolidating efforts to combat the pandemic, and others.

It is expected that in his speech, the leader of Uzbekistan will voice a number of initiatives aimed at further strengthening relations of friendship and good-neighborliness, mutual trust and support, and will outline new promising areas of regional interaction based on common long-term interests.

Within the framework of the summit, it is planned to hold a meeting of the Dialogue of Women Leaders, the Economic Forum of Central Asia, an exhibition of national goods, a festival of dishes of national cuisines, as well as a gala concert of art masters from the countries of the region.
