Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon today. This was reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.

During the conversation, the heads of states discussed the results of the SCO Summit in Samarkand. In this context, Emomali Rahmon highly appreciated the organizational and content aspects of this important regional event. The President of Tajikistan thanked the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and traditional hospitality and highly appreciated the results of the meeting of the heads of state, which resulted in the adoption of a solid package of decisions and documents on various areas of the Organization’s activities.

At the same time, the President of Tajikistan also informed the President of Uzbekistan about the latest developments in the situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border.

The parties also discussed certain topical issues of Tajik-Uzbek relations of friendship, good neighborliness and mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of strategic partnership and alliance.
