Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 March in the evening, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov arrived on a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the Tashkent International Airport, he was met by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Uzbekistan Oleg Malginov and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Investments and Foreign Economic Relations - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov.
Rustam Minnikhanov has a busy work program planned, which includes meetings with business circles and negotiations with government officials in the government of Uzbekistan. One of the key events of the working trip of Rustam Minnikhanov and the delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan to Uzbekistan will be participation in the ceremony of laying the first stone and the start of construction of the Chirchik chemical-industrial technopark, which is being created in cooperation with the Kazan technopolis Khimgrad. On the territory of the technopark, it is planned to organize the production of petrochemical and chemical products with high added value and in accordance with international quality standards.
By the decision of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Uzkimyosanoat JSC and the Khimgrad technopolis are creating an industrial park in the city of Chirchik, Tashkent region, designed to localize the production of Russian companies in Uzbekistan. The technopark will have a developed engineering infrastructure with connection points to power supply networks. The residents of the park will be provided with preferential tax conditions, comprehensive support will be provided in the implementation of investment projects. Work on the creation of an industrial park will be implemented with the support of the governments of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tatarstan, which also provides for the participation of investments from Tatarstan resident companies.
At the end of 2021, the Tatarstan-Uzbekistan trade turnover amounted to almost US$200 million. Over the past 5 years, there has been a strengthening of trade and economic relations between the Republic of Tatarstan and Uzbekistan as part of the growth of cooperation with the Russian Federation. To date, a number of agreements and memoranda on cooperation between our ministries, chambers of commerce and industry, enterprises, organizations and universities have been signed and are being implemented. Fruitful work is being carried out on cooperation with leading Tatarstan companies such as KAMAZ, Tatneft, Khimgrad, KER-Holding, Tatkhimfarmpreparaty, POZiS and others.
