Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Head of the Presidential Administration Sardor Umurzakov, on behalf of the head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting on the problems of the education system.
As it became known, despite the decree of the President, according to which land plots and buildings belonging to schools can be seized and transferred to third parties only with the consent of the Minister of Public Education, 198 cases of violation of this legislative act were identified.
As a result, 70 hectares of land and 19 buildings were confiscated from schools or arbitrarily occupied on the basis of illegal decisions of khokims. In particular, the lands without the permission of the minister were seized into the state reserve, for the construction of housing or social facilities.
At the meeting, the Prosecutor General’s Office was instructed to take the situation under control, take legal measures and apply to the court for the return of the lands.
