Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, about 2 million children attend kindergarten. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his address to the Parliament.
“As a result of the increase in the coverage of children with preschool education from 27% to 70% over the past six years, today about 2 million children attend kindergarten,” the President said.
Recently, these reforms were highly appreciated at the UNESCO World Conference on Preschool Education, held in Tashkent, the head of state said.
At the same time, to achieve 80 percent coverage in the next five years, it is necessary to create 600,000 new places in kindergartens, Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.
“This is a huge milestone. Therefore, a five-year program is being adopted to increase the number of kindergartens and radically improve the quality of education and upbringing in them,” the President noted.
“Additional conditions will be created for the private sector to expand the coverage of kindergartens,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev added.
