Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A presentation of the new building of the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan took place in Tashkent. The development of the architectural project of the Museum is carried out with the participation of the architectural bureau of the world famous architect, winner of the Pritzker Prize Tadao Ando "Tadao Ando Architect & Associates". The general designer is the architectural bureau "Atelier Brückner GmbH" (Germany).
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, Executive Director of the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art Gayane Umerova, Deputy Minister of Construction Nasrullo Boboev, representatives of the architectural bureau "Atelier Brückner", managing partner of the bureau Eberhart Schlag, as well as Directorate for the construction of the International Business Center "Tashkent city" under the Cabinet of Ministers and others.
According to the instructions of the country’s leadership, the Culture and Art Development Fund under the Cabinet of Ministers is implementing a project to build a new building for the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan.
The construction of a new building of the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan is carried out in the period 2022-2023 on a land plot in Tashkent, between the Abulkasim Madrasah, the Istiklol Palace of Arts and the monument to Alisher Navoi.
As it was reported at the event, the design concept of the museum includes a large exposition space, museum storages, a library, a lecture hall, a cafe, as well as a rooftop terrace and a park.
The presentation presented the master plan of the object, engineering and planning solutions for the exposition space, public space, storage of museum collections, a conference hall, a restaurant, a cafe and auditoriums, and a library. The design of the museum is carried out taking into account all the latest technologies for the functioning of the museum space.
Earlier, Tadao Ando noted: “I believe that the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan should be a symbol of rebirth and hope. I see him like a ship sailing in the sea of time. I really want my architecture to inspire people to use their own resources and move into the future.”
It should be noted that the full presentation of the project for the new building of the State Museum of Arts will be presented in April 2022.
