Presentation of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan takes place in Beijing

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A presentation of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy was held at the headquarters of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Beijing.

The event, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing jointly with the Development Strategy Center of Uzbekistan, the SCO Secretariat and the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, was attended by the leadership and permanent representatives of the SCO member states, senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps , socio-political, expert-analytical, business circles and the media of China.

In his speech, SCO Secretary-General Zhang Ming praised "the important contribution of Uzbekistan to sustainable development, peace and stability in the region of the Shanghai Organization."

“In recent years, under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, large-scale reforms have been carried out in the country. In the foreign policy sphere, the republic is consistently strengthening good neighborly and friendly relations. This made it possible to intensify the mutually beneficial international cooperation of Uzbekistan, including within the framework of the SCO,” Zhang Ming emphasized.

He also noted that the goals and objectives of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy reflect the dynamic aspirations of the state to further deepen the reform processes, accelerate development and unlock new opportunities to achieve even higher milestones.

Chinese experts drew attention to the progress made in Uzbekistan in five years in development in almost all spheres of society, including education, health, employment, social security, poverty reduction, youth and women’s development.

At the same time, the speakers gave a positive assessment of the constructive and open foreign policy of Uzbekistan, the efforts of Tashkent to further develop broad international cooperation, including within the framework of the UN, SCO and other organizations. It was emphasized that "New Uzbekistan" is an enterprising and active participant in modern international processes, UzA reports.

Experts believe that the priorities outlined in the New Uzbekistan Strategy are fully consonant with the areas of cooperation within the SCO in the context of implementing the key goals and objectives defined in the SCO Charter in the political, trade, economic, investment, transport and communication and cultural and humanitarian fields.
