Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 February 2020, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Japan, Gayrat Fazilov, took part in a business seminar in Nagoya, organized by the diplomatic mission together with the Rotary Club Nagoya club.

The event was attended by representatives of the leadership of Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya, Japanese companies and economic structures operating in the region.

A presentation of the economic and investment potential of Uzbekistan was presented for the participants of the business seminar, information was provided on the current economic development, measures taken by the Government to technological modernize the economy, improve the business climate, support entrepreneurship and reduce the tax burden on business.

Speaking at the event, the governor of the prefecture, Aichi Hideki Omura, once again thanked President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for visiting the prefecture in December 2019 and confirmed his readiness to make efforts to further strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Nagoya Mayor Takashi Kawamura praised the negotiations during the high-level visit to Japan and reported on the measures planned by the city mayor within the framework of the Partnership Agreement with Tashkent.

At the speeches, the need to further intensify cooperation was noted, especially in the field of economy, trade, attracting Japanese investments and technologies for the implementation of specific mutually beneficial projects in our country.

The chairman of the city parliamentary League of Friendship with Uzbekistan, Yoshiro Watanabe, emphasized the growth of interest in Uzbekistan observed after the visit of the head of our state and expressed his readiness to assist in organizing a visit of the delegation of the Nagoya City Council of Deputies to Uzbekistan in the second quarter of this year to establish direct ties of cooperation with Kengash of people’s deputies of Tashkent.

Following the results of the business seminar, an agreement was reached on further joint development of the issue of the possible organization of elevator production in Uzbekistan, attraction of companies operating in the agricultural sector to the Uzbek market, as well as organization of a visit of a delegation of business circles of the city of Nagoya to our country.
