Preschool education coverage for children to expand
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Government of Uzbekistan has approved a resolution titled "On Additional Measures to Increase Preschool Education Coverage for Children in 2025–2026."
The document introduces a program aimed at expanding preschool education coverage for children aged 3 to 7 and sets target indicators for the coming years.
According to the approved plans, approximately 2.46 million children will be enrolled in preschool education by 2025, with this number increasing to 2.57 million by 2026.
To achieve these goals, private kindergartens will be established in mahallas with high living standards and purchasing power, where the number of low-income families is minimal. These institutions will operate under a public-private partnership model.
In remote and suburban mahallas, located outside central districts and cities, family-run private kindergartens will be opened, ensuring access to education even in the most hard-to-reach settlements.
By the end of 2025, preschool education coverage for children from low-income families will be fully ensured.
Additionally, as part of a World Bank project, over 7,140 new playgrounds will be installed in public kindergartens, and around 3,000 sets of furniture, including tables and chairs, will be purchased to create comfortable learning conditions.
