Premiere of the Documentary “Earth’s Legacy” Held at FAO Headquarters in Rome
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The premiere of the documentary film “Earth’s Legacy” took place at the headquarters of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome. The film was produced with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the FAO Representation in Uzbekistan, and the Zamin Foundation.
The screening was timed to coincide with World Soil Day and aimed to draw international attention to the vital importance of preserving soil resources.
The documentary highlights the role of soils in ensuring food security, promoting sustainable agricultural development, and protecting Uzbekistan’s ecosystems. It emphasizes that rational management of land resources is key to the prosperity of rural areas and the country’s environmental sustainability.
Participants included the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Italy — Permanent Representative to FAO, representatives of FAO headquarters and the FAO Representation in Uzbekistan, a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, diplomats, representatives of international organizations, as well as Uzbek students studying at specialized universities in Italy.
The premiere served as an important platform for sharing experiences and promoting dialogue on soil conservation.
Attendees stressed that sustainable land management is a priority in the collaboration between FAO and Uzbekistan. Joint initiatives aim to enhance agricultural productivity, restore degraded lands, and implement modern soil care techniques.
The event concluded with discussions on the prospects for further cooperation within FAO programs focused on sustainable land use, ecological balance, and food security.
