Uzbekistan to abolish the practice of mandatory three-year service for university graduates

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will abolish the practice of mandatory three-year service for university graduates who studied on the basis of a state grant. This was discussed at a meeting on issues of admission to universities and improving the system of forming government orders.

Also, according to the information, the state grant will be allocated to students in the form of an educational and social incentive grant.

In this case, an educational grant will be allocated to students for one academic year who score the highest points based on the results of enrollment in the 1st year, and starting from the 2nd year - based on rating indicators.

A social incentive grant will be awarded to students enrolled on the basis of targeted admission and benefits for the entire period of study.

Also in Uzbekistan, the minimum scores for admission to universities will be increased.

This process will be carried out in two stages. For the areas of healthcare, law, business and management, the minimum passing score will be increased to 94.5, and for other areas - to 75.6. In practice, the minimum score for all areas will be 56.7 points.
