Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 February this year, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Shakhlo Turdikulova met with Antonio Somma, head of the group and project manager of the Whiteshield Partners consulting company. It was also attended by employees of the Department of the Strategy for Innovative Development and the Global Innovation Index of the Agency for Innovative Development.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to international indices, in particular the Global Innovation Index. The GII evaluates the country’s development according to 81 indicators. It was noted that the most optimal solution for the country’s exit from today’s changing economic conditions and global inflation is the development of innovations.

Despite the fact that Uzbekistan showed good results in the Global Innovation Index, it was noted that there are many issues that need to be addressed in this area. The company’s experts selected 47 GII indicators and developed a roadmap based on them.

According to forecasts, by 2025 our country will take 61st place in the GII if the strategy of international ratings and indices developed by Whiteshield Partners is implemented.

Following the meeting, Antonio Somma said that he was ready to cooperate in developing the innovation ecosystem of Uzbekistan and improving the country’s position in the Global Innovation Index.
