Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 26 August 2021, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Serbia.
The Serbian delegation was headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nemanja Starovic, of Uzbekistan - by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gayrat Fozilov.
During the talks, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation.
The parties agreed on the need to intensify the political and diplomatic dialogue between Uzbekistan and Serbia, including through the organization of mutual visits and negotiations at various levels.
In terms of developing trade and economic cooperation, they discussed the possibility of creating a sectoral Intergovernmental Commission, as well as concluding intergovernmental agreements on attracting and protecting investments, and trade and economic cooperation, attracting Serbian companies to the implementation of investment projects in Uzbekistan.
The delegations expressed interest in expanding cultural, humanitarian and interregional ties.
They also exchanged views on certain regional and international issues, interaction of the parties within the framework of multilateral structures.
