Polish company Irimed to build the European Cardiology Center for Cardiovascular Diseases with regional offices

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland Bahrom Babayev, representatives of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT), Ministry of Health, Uzbekiston Temir Yollari and the head of the Polish company Irimed discussed the investment project “Creating a European cardiological center of cardiovascular diseases in the city of Tashkent and regions of the republic" worth US$25 million, Dunyo reported.

The President of the Polish company, Robert Gil, informed of his readiness to begin the first stage of the project, according to which a 4-storey building with operating departments for coronary procedures, peripheral and structural heart diseases with the installation of modern medical equipment will be built in Tashkent.

At the second stage, it is planned to create diagnostic departments of the clinic in the regions of the republic. At the third stage, the activities of the medical center will expand due to the opening of additional emergency departments 24/7 with a treatment program for acute stroke and myocardial infarction.

This investment project was included in the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan PP No. 4563 "On measures to implement the Investment Program for 2020-2022" from 9 January 2020. Responsible for its implementation is the Ministry of Health of the Republic.

During the negotiations, the chairman of the board of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari Khusnutdin Khosilov informed about the territory in the city of Tashkent on which the construction and implementation of the first phase of the investment project is planned. The investor was given topographic data and information about the underground communications of the territory under the jurisdiction of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari.

Representatives of the MIFT and the Ministry of Health exchanged views with a Polish partner regarding possible forms of ownership of the planned facility, as well as on further step-by-step steps in the process of review and approval of the project.

Assessing the conditions created in Uzbekistan for foreign investors, Robert Gil expressed the opinion that the republic is currently at a critical stage of economic transformation. How successful the global business community will be in entering the Uzbek market depends on their success. An important role in this process is played by investments in the development of small and medium-sized businesses, which make a significant contribution to the creation of new jobs and contribute to the development of the most important sectors of the economy, including in the healthcare sector.

According to the Polish businessman, for a fairly short period, Uzbekistan has achieved positive results in the economic sphere. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the successful implementation of government programs and reforms, large-scale modernization of the economy, and technical and technological renewal of production work to achieve high macroeconomic indicators.

The investor assured that the investment project under consideration will contribute to the further development of the healthcare system, the treatment of citizens of the country from heart diseases and cardiovascular diseases.
