Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Sherabad district of Surkhandarya region, a plane with the identification marks of Afghanistan reportedly crashed. 

The Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan is checking information about a plane crash in Surkhandarya region. Information about the plane crash was disseminated by the newspaper Gazeta.uz.

Photos and video footage from Topnewsuz telegrams circulated on the Internet, showing parts of the crashed plane and at least one victim. According to preliminary information, the incident happened on the evening of 15 August. According to unconfirmed information, those on the plane managed to jump out with parachutes.

Gazeta.uz source in Surkhandarya confirmed that two Afghan servicemen were hospitalized in the Termez branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Aid.

The Uzbek authorities have not yet commented on the situation.
