Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Huawei in Uzbekistan and the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers presented a pilot project to introduce innovative technologies in the field of agriculture and irrigation systems.
On 28 September, a demonstration showroom of Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers was opened, where a pilot project of "smart" agriculture was presented using control systems, monitoring and data processing based on 5G technologies, the Internet of Things, a drone, smart sensors and a platform for intelligent processing of big data.
This project was implemented within the framework of a memorandum signed between Huawei and the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIIMSH), and was implemented with the technical support of the national operator UZTELECOM in the Urta-Chirchik district of the Tashkent region at the TIIIMSH Scientific training ground.
The professors of TIIIMSH, specialists and management of the national operator UZTELECOM, representatives of the Ministry of Higher Education, Ministries of Water and Agriculture, State Unitary Enterprise "Geoinnovation Center" technologies in the field of agriculture and in the system of water resources management took part in the event. The showroom presents the full concept of a pilot project of "smart" agriculture, taking into account online monitoring of the application of technologies at the research and training ground.
“The initiative to launch a pilot project on the use of the latest technologies in agriculture and irrigation systems together with Huawei belonged to the rector Uktam Umurzakov who left us. He deeply believed that thanks to innovative technologies we would be able to change the approach to rationalizing the use of natural resources in Uzbekistan and raise agriculture to a new "digital" level in the context of the transition to a digital economy, because agriculture plays a leading role in the economy of the entire country. The implemented project has become a demonstration model for agricultural enterprises, specialists and scientists in this field, as well as for students of our institute, how the use of technology can simplify the care of the harvest, increase the efficiency of labor and protect the environment, "said the first vice-rector of TIIIMSH Bakhodir Mirzaev.
“I have said more than once that we are linked by a long history of cooperation with the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers. And it was very important for us to complete this project and demonstrate all the possibilities of introducing innovative technologies into the field of agriculture in memory of warm and friendly relations with Uktam Umurzakov, who left us. Digital transformation will soon affect all spheres of the economy, and our joint project opens a new history of agriculture in Uzbekistan, being a clear example of the success of the use of Internet of Things technologies, 5G, and unmanned devices. Now scientists, professors, agronomists, farmers and of course young people can come to this field to test and experience the benefits of using technologies to protect natural resources and the environment,” said Liu Jiaxing, director of Huawei in Uzbekistan.
