Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 27 December 2022, at 09:15 a.m. Saudi time, there was a traffic accident involving a Mercedes-Benz bus, which transported pilgrims from Uzbekistan, on highway No. 160 "Jeddah-Medina". This was announced by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan.

As a result of an accident, out of 50 pilgrims on the bus, 10 were injured.

All the victims received emergency medical care at the Wadi al-Far and Al-Khimna hospitals near the city of Medina. 40 pilgrims are housed in a hotel in Medina.

The situation was taken under control by the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Jeddah. Liaison with law enforcement agencies and medical institutions has been established. Diplomats are in constant contact with citizens
