Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- PIA Airlines of Pakistan is planning to launch regular flights to Uzbekistan.

This issue was discussed at a meeting at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of representatives of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Uzbekistan and the management of the PIA airline.

During the meeting, representatives of both sides emphasized that the development of cooperation between our countries in the field of civil aviation meets the interests of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.

During the talks, the head of the air transport development department of the Ministry of Transport D. Djumaev informed in detail about the measures taken to attract foreign airlines to the domestic aviation market, create favorable conditions for all market participants.

In particular, he noted that only this year, airport charges were reduced to 42%, and for flights operated in the direction of pilgrim tourism - up to 50%.

The representative of PIA in Uzbekistan, Mohammed Vakkos, shared his plans to establish regular flights on the Islamabad-Tashkent and Karachi-Tashkent routes. The airline intends to launch flights to these destinations from January 2022.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint work to establish regular flights in the established directions.
