Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the visit of a St. Petersburg delegation to Uzbekistan, Governor Alexander Beglov discussed with the khokim of Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov the prospects for cooperation between the regions. At the meeting, a joint document on the development of bilateral cooperation was signed. This was reported by the press service of the Administration of St. Petersburg.
“Further joint steps of our regions are fully reflected in the roadmap for the development of interregional cooperation between the Samarkand region and St. Petersburg. This document describes in detail our actions to deepen cooperation in the field of labor, education, healthcare, culture and tourism,” said Alexander Beglov.
The governor and khokim of Samarkand region discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of labor and employment, as well as in the field of culture. Alexander Beglov noted that labor migrants arriving in Russia should be better adapted: they should know the culture, language and Russian legislation. To strengthen this work, in 2022, the Coordinating Council for International Labor Migration was created in St. Petersburg. It includes the Association for the Promotion of International Labor Migration, which closely cooperates with the Samarkand Regional Monocenter "Ishga Markhamat". The monocenter is engaged in providing employment and training citizens in modern professional and entrepreneurial skills.
Alexander Beglov also said that he plans to visit the Samarkand Regional Library and Information Center and get acquainted with the possibilities of cooperation in the field of access to electronic library funds.
In addition, the governor invited Erkinjon Turdimov to consider the possibility of holding the Days of the Samarkand region in St. Petersburg in 2023.
