Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 April, a citizen M.A. applied to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who said that in early April of this year, a resident of Namangan region Sanjar, through his brother Utkir, who works in the khokimiyat of the city of Namangan, promised to help in obtaining a land plot, introduced people named Utkir and Kamron, who assured that through their acquaintances in the khokimiyat they would register in his name 1 hectare of free land, which is on the balance sheet of the farm "Yakka tut nurli zamin" of Uychi district for US$43,000. This was reported by the Department for Combating Corruption and Economic Crimes of the Main Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

On the basis of this statement, on 26 April, employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the prosecutor’s office, the State Security Service of Namangan region, near the building of the cinema named after Alisher Navoiy, carried out operational actions, during which U.S., his brother U.U., and also K.E. were caught red-handed while receiving 33 million soums from the applicant M.A. in respect of the required amount – US$20,000.
