Pensioner Performs Drift at Wedding Procession in Samarkand Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 June, a video went viral on social media showing an elderly man performing a drift on a public road. The incident sparked widespread public discussion and was soon addressed by the Road Safety Department of the Samarkand region.
According to the department, the incident took place on a residential road running through the “Karshiobod” mahalla in the Pastdargom district. The violation occurred during a wedding procession, where a group of drivers were sharply changing directions while moving in a tight convoy.
The pensioner, driving his car, joined the procession and, ignoring traffic rules, executed a drift maneuver directly on the road.
Following an investigation, measures were taken against the offenders in accordance with Part 10 of Article 128 (reckless driving) and Article 129 (group movement posing a threat to road safety) of the Administrative Liability Code. All vehicles involved were impounded and taken to a penalty lot.
