Passengers Stuck in Tashkent Metro Due to Train Malfunction
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 December, passengers in the Tashkent metro were briefly trapped in a tunnel between stations. At the time of publication, no official comments had been provided by the relevant authorities.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred around 11:57 a.m., when a train stopped between the “Pakhtakor” and “Gafur Gulam” stations and remained stationary for nearly 15 minutes. One passenger reportedly felt unwell and required medical attention.
The Metro press service later stated that at 11:55 a.m., train No. 39, traveling between the “Gafur Gulom” and “Alisher Navoi” stations, experienced technical malfunctions. The train was halted for six minutes and sent for technical inspection.
