Passenger rail transportation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will be resumed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are resuming passenger rail transportation from 15 May, Uzbekistan temir yullari said in a statement.

According to the company, from 15 May, a movement of train will be launched in the direction of Nukus - Beineu - Nukus.

At the same time, on 16 May, a train will start running in the direction of Almaty - Tashkent - Almaty.

The frequency of the above flights from the railway station "Tashkent-Central" to Kazakhstan is 3 times a week.

All persons who arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan through checkpoints across the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan are required to provide a certificate of passing the test for COVID-19 by PCR (in Kazakh, Russian or English). The certificate is valid when issuing the results of the PCR test no earlier than 72 hours at the time of crossing the state border of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The certificates are not required:

- children under the age of 5 years, if the persons accompanying them have such a certificate,

- members of government delegations of the Republic of Kazakhstan,

- locomotive crews, persons associated with transportation activities in railway, sea and river transport,

- persons who received revaccination or a full course of vaccination against COVID-19 in the Republic of Kazakhstan, if no more than 6 months have passed after receiving the second component at the time of crossing the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan, upon providing documentary evidence;

- persons who have provided a passport/certificate/certificate of vaccination against COVID-19, recognized as valid on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in accordance with the decision of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Persons entering the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the territory of the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as from the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, submit a certificate, including using the mobile application "Travel without COVID-19".

Arriving persons with elevated body temperature, regardless of the availability of the Certificate, are subject to isolation in the infectious diseases hospital.

In March 2020, due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, international passenger trains were suspended almost all over the world. Two years later, a number of countries began to gradually open their borders to passenger trains.
