Passenger Car Skids into Ditch at Kamchik Pass, Driver Rescued
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Nexia 2 passenger car skidded off the road and into a ditch at the Kamchik Pass. Rescue services were required to recover the vehicle, Podrobno.uz reported. Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the accident occurred on 16 January at 22:02. The driver, who was traveling from Tashkent to the Fergana Valley, lost control of the vehicle and veered off the roadway.
Rescuers from the Ministry’s special unit stationed at the Kamchik Pass promptly arrived at the scene and used specialized equipment to evacuate the car to a safe area.
Weather conditions at the pass remain difficult. As of the morning of 17 January, fog with visibility of around 500 meters persists on the road, while snowfall continues in the higher sections.
Road services and emergency responders are urging drivers to exercise maximum caution and remain vigilant when traveling through this stretch.
