Partners discuss the process of developing a five-year Strategy for the development of the system of providing public services in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 July 2021, a working meeting of the Minister of Justice Ruslanbek Davletov, Director of the Public Services Agency Ulugbek Mukhammadiev, representatives of the KPMG and the Joint Project of the Public Services Agency under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and UNDP in Uzbekistan "Improving the provision of Public Services and Improving the Level of Governance in Rural Areas of Uzbekistan ”, funded by the European Union, dedicated to the discussion of the development of the draft five-year Strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the development of the public services system was held.

During the meeting, KPMG experts provided detailed information to the participants about the process of organizing work and the chosen methodology for studying the current situation, as well as developing a draft Strategy and a roadmap for its implementation.

The new Strategy will be aimed at the effective implementation of state policy for the implementation of effective reforms for the further development of the system for the provision of public services by improving the regulatory framework, improving the integration of existing and new modern information systems, optimizing the organizational structure of management and monitoring, including strengthening human resources, decentralization and outsourcing of public services to the private sector.

The draft Strategy also stipulates the implementation of the necessary measures to improve the legal and digital literacy of users of public services and to ensure the inclusiveness of all channels for the provision of public services necessary to increase their accessibility to all segments of the population.

After its approval, the Strategy is expected to help improve the quality of life of the entire population of the country, especially rural residents, including women, youth and large families, the elderly and people with disabilities, by expanding their access to public services.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed on the timing of the presentation of the final version of an important strategic document, taking into account the received proposals and wishes.
