Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Participants of the VI International Congress "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan - the foundation of a new Renaissance" and members of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Promotion of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan adopted the final Declaration on Registan Square.

The final document emphasizes: "Directly on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the foundation of the New Renaissance - the New Renaissance is being laid in Uzbekistan, which is also expressed in the implementation of fundamental changes in the spiritual and educational sphere."

The scientists also noted that large-scale events in the field of humanitarian science and culture are being organized and held in Uzbekistan, a 10-year State program has been adopted to improve the activities of state museums and strengthen their material and technical base for 2017-2027. A vivid example is that only this year 7 new museums are being created in Samarkand. The International University of Tourism "Silk Road" was opened.

An extremely important recognition of the country’s efforts aimed at preserving the unique cultural heritage of past centuries was the election of Uzbekistan as a member of the UNESCO Committee for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, held in Paris at the 8th session of the General Assembly of the Member States of the Convention "On the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage".

“For six years of work of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, 60 volumes of the exclusive international series “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the Collections of the World” have been published. Work continues on the series "Architectural epigraphy of Uzbekistan", "Culture and science of Uzbekistan in the works of scientists", more than 60 films have been shot, many media forums have been held in Uzbekistan and abroad. This entire fruitful program of action, which ensures an effective dialogue between scientists, would not have been possible without the support of the President and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, socially responsible business represented by the Eriell Group, and a number of international humanitarian organizations,” the declaration says.

In addition, members of the World Society highly appreciated the organization of the VI International Congress "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan - the Foundation of a New Renaissance" held on 22-24 July 2022. They called it an important event in the scientific world, bringing together 350 participants from 32 countries. More than 100 reports were read, round tables and sessions were held.

It was emphasized that scientists from almost all Central Asian states took part in the work of the VI Congress for the first time.
