Parliamentary delegation from Uzbekistan studies South Korea’s experience within KOICA program
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of an experience exchange program in parliamentary activities implemented jointly with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), a delegation of senators and deputies from the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis has begun a visit to the Republic of Korea.
The purpose of the visit is to study South Korea’s advanced practices in lawmaking, mechanisms for directly informing citizens about parliamentary activities, principles of transparency, the implementation of modern IT solutions in parliamentary infrastructure, as well as methods of interaction with local councils (Kengashs) and other institutions.
The delegation’s program includes participation not only in training seminars but also in a series of official meetings. In particular, the Oliy Majlis representatives will hold talks with South Korean parliamentarians, visit the Budget Office and the Legislative Research Office of the National Assembly, and meet with representatives of KOICA’s international cooperation department.
In addition to the official program, the Uzbek delegation will familiarize themselves with the activities of the Hwaseong City Council and hold a meeting with the city’s mayor.
Throughout the planned events, special attention will be given to strengthening friendly ties and developing systematic experience exchange between the representative bodies of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea.
