Ozodbek Nazarbekov: Material Interests Increasingly Affect Family and Social Bonds

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Culture, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, has expressed concern over the growing influence of material interests on social relationships.

According to him, in modern society, financial gain is increasingly becoming a decisive factor, with people often unwilling to engage in activities that do not offer monetary benefit.

In an interview with the “Uzbekiston” TV channel, Nazarbekov noted that this trend is gradually affecting even the closest personal ties.

“Today, everything comes down to calculations and personal gain, and this is already seeping into relationships between father and son, among relatives, and between siblings,” the minister said.

He reminded that not long ago, such behavior was considered unacceptable, and society was built on strong family values and mutual support.

“We are talking about the very foundations of society — family bonds and the strength of the family institution. Yet today, we see that certain vices are beginning to infiltrate these relationships and are gradually becoming entrenched,” emphasized Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
