Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Over 600,000 compatriots returned to Uzbekistan from abroad during a pandemic. This was announced by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in his message to parliament.
The head of Uzbekistan noted that during the pandemic, medical facilities were transferred to an emergency situation.
Mirziyoyev said that in a short time in Tashkent and the regions of Uzbekistan, medical institutions for almost 30 thousand beds were organized. To combat the pandemic, more than 200 thousand medical workers have been involved, including 150 foreign doctors and specialists.
According to him, over 600,000 compatriots have been returned to Uzbekistan from abroad. The necessary assistance was provided to over 100 thousand compatriots who found themselves in a difficult situation abroad.
The President stressed that the state has taken a set of measures for 82 trillion soums. In particular, the Anti-Crisis Fund was created and 16 trillion soums were sent to the fund from the budget.
In 2020, more than 500,000 state-owned enterprises and business entities, as well as almost 8 million citizens, received tax incentives, a deferral for loans totaling 66 trillion soums.
Over 800,000 needy families received over 1 trillion soums of material support within the framework of the Kindness and Support movement.
