Over 60 companies to represent the textile industry of Uzbekistan in Poland

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 October, negotiations were held between the chairman of the Uztekstilprom Association Ilkhom Khaydarov, with the President of the Polish-Asian Chamber of Commerce Janusz Pekhochinsky and First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan I. Jasimov.

During the meeting, a presentation was made on current trade and economic reforms in Uzbekistan, including achievements in the textile sector and its potential.

Janusz Pekhochinsky noted that the measures taken in Uzbekistan in recent years to develop the textile industry show positive results, which confirms the growing interest of textile companies operating in European countries to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan.

It was noted that the granting of GSP + status to Uzbekistan by the European Union will become the basis for strengthening trade and investment cooperation with Uzbek companies.

The parties also agreed to continue negotiations to establish cooperation in a number of important areas:

The parties exchanged views on the development of preliminary road maps for the opening of the Trade House of Uzbekistan in Poland.

Janusz Pekhochinsky especially noted that within the framework of the upcoming exhibition this year, Poland allocated 600 m2 of land for the participation of textile enterprises of Uzbekistan. And this will create the basis for the participation of more than 60 large textile enterprises in Uzbekistan.

They also discussed the signing of a memorandum on the opening of a trading house within the framework of the upcoming exhibition.
