Over 4,000 officials attracted to responsibility for violation of law on appeal of citizens

The Prosecutor-General’s Office hosted an inter-departmental meeting, which was attended by representatives of Senate and Legislative Chamber, Human Rights Center, ministries and departments, etc.

The meeting considered an execution of the law “On appeal of the citizens” at the ministries, state committees, departments, local administrations and other organizations.

The meeting criticized violations of the law, which were admitted by the state bodies and administrations.

The prosecutors carried out about 4,323 acts of procurator supervision in ten months of 2013. Some 4,011 officials were attracted to disciplinary and administration responsibility and some 44 criminal cases were opened on serious cases.

The prosecutors also consider appeals on individuals and legal entities on rehabilitation of their interests and rights.

In ten months of 2013, the prosecutors considered over 123,000 appeals and rehabilitated rights of about 11,000 citizens.

The meeting also underlined necessity to adopt measures on strengthening control over consideration of the appeals of the citizens by the state bodies. The inter-department meeting adopted a corresponding decision.
