Over 2 Tons of Narcotics Destroyed in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 June, as part of events marking the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the State Security Service of Uzbekistan organized the destruction of a large batch of narcotic substances seized from illegal circulation. A total of 2 tons and 135 kilograms of prohibited substances were eliminated.
The narcotics, confiscated during operations conducted by the State Security Service and other law enforcement agencies across the country, were destroyed by incineration in accordance with established procedures.
Among the substances destroyed were 99.8 kg of heroin, 202.5 kg of opium, 415.1 kg of hashish, 395.7 kg of marijuana, 613 kg of cannabis, 153 kg of poppy straw, as well as significant quantities of synthetic drugs: 57.8 kg of mephedrone, 29.6 kg of α-PVP, 5.7 kg of spice, and 5.5 kg of cathinone.
