Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first quarter of 2025, a total of 1,616 cultural artifacts were seized at Uzbekistan’s state border while being unlawfully transported.

According to the Agency for Cultural Heritage, all seized objects underwent art expertise. Expert conclusions were prepared for 126 of them. The total estimated value of the confiscated cultural artifacts is 219.5 million soums.

At the same time, 258 export certificates were processed through official channels, allowing the legal export of 2,005 items. Temporary export permits were also issued for another 229 exhibits.

The campaign "My Contribution to National Heritage!" continues, during which citizens have transferred 132 cultural objects to the state, valued at 7 billion soums. A decision regarding the purchase of these items will be made by the Council of Art Experts.
