Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan has allocated 54.9 billion soums to encourage medical workers involved in the fight against coronavirus infection. This was announced by Minister of Finance Timur Ishmetov.
According to him, 15,825 medical workers received incentive payments.
On 26 March, the head of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On additional measures to support medical workers and workers of the sanitary-epidemiological service involved in countering the spread of coronavirus infection.”
During the quarantine period, the document provides special incentive payments to employees of the medical, sanitary and epidemiological service and other employees who are in contact with patients with COVID-19, as well as operating in institutions where infected with coronavirus and laboratories to detect this infection are provided (without tax accounting) for every 14 days of work:
medical personnel, laboratory assistant - 25 million soums;
Nursing staff, nurse-laboratory assistant - 15 million soums;
junior medical personnel - 10 million soums;
other workers - 5 million soums.
On 19 March 2020, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On priority measures to mitigate the negative impact on the economy of the coronavirus pandemic and global crisis phenomena”.
The decree introduced a daily supplement of 6% of the monthly official salary to medical, sanitary-epidemiological and other employees for the period of their involvement in measures to counteract the spread of coronavirus.
