Over 1,500 people visit First Day of Touch Math Festival
The Touch Math Festival has been taking place in Uzbekistan for the first time. Inha University in Tashkent and Inha University in South Korea are organizers of the event. The festival was organized within the Year of Healthy Mother and Child.
The festival attracted attention of people from Uzbekistan. Children, their parents, grandparents and teachers came to the Inha University in Tashkent two hours before the official opening ceremony of the festival.
Representatives of Inha University in Tashkent and Inha University in South Korea, a chain of supermarkets Korzina.uz and others participated in the opening ceremony.
Within the festival, over 20 math teachers from South Korea presented various puzzles, games and excises. In particular, the children created geometric figures from various materials and solved the tasks. The children of elder age played chess and other games at special sensor boards and infokiosks.
Majority of the visitors noted that they were impressed from the festival. The parents and grand-parents noted that the children were excited from the festival and it was impossible to take children away from the stands. The young participants of the event also participated in quizzes. The math teachers from the Uzbek schools received books with interesting excises on algebra, geometry and logic. Part of these excises is presented at the stands of the festival.
The festival will continue its work on 7 and 8 January 2016. During these days, the participants can participate in lectures on math, quizzes and Hour of Coding.
Professor of Inha University in South Korea Hoon Chang will speak about math in the real work and cube in the fourth dimension.
