Over 12,000 Uzbek citizens study in Russia – envoy

Over 1,500 citizens of Uzbekistan enrolled to the Russian universities in 2015, Ambassador of Russia to Uzbekistan Vladimir Tyurdenev said.
The Russian envoy said that there are high interest in studying Russian language and receive Russian education in Uzbekistan.
According to him, 1,500 Uzbek enrollees entered to the Russian universities in 2015, of which 180 – on quota, set by the Russian Government.
Total number of the citizens of Uzbekistan, studying in the Russian universities, exceeds 12,000 people, he added.
Head of Rossotrudnichestva Office in Uzbekistan and Advisor of Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan Victor Shulika said that Uzbekistan holds the first place among the CIS states on number of students, studying in the Russian universities.
