Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of Uzbekistan’s chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a regular meeting of defense ministers of the organization’s member states was held yesterday in Tashkent.
The ministers exchanged views on topical issues of international and regional security, and identified further steps to strengthen cooperation in the field of defense and security.
The inadmissibility of ensuring one’s own security at the expense of the security of other states was noted. The events taking place in the world testify to the irreversibility of the formation of a fair multipolar world order.
The ministers believe that one of the most important factors in maintaining security in the SCO space is the soonest settlement of the situation in Afghanistan.
The ministers strongly condemned attempts to review the causes and results of World War II, rehabilitate Nazi criminals and their accomplices, and promote the ideas of neo-Nazism.
The ministers decided to hold the Peace Mission 2023 anti-terrorist command and staff exercise in Russia.
A decision was made to hold the next meeting of defense ministers of the SCO member states in 2023 in the Republic of India.
