Order of accounting and destruction of biometric passports was approved

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyov signed a decree on regulating the accounting and destruction of biometric passports of citizens of Uzbekistan and biometric travel documents of persons without citizenship of Uzbekistan.

According to the decree, the State Personalization Center under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan records and destroys defective biometric passports of citizens of Uzbekistan and biometric travel documents of stateless persons of Uzbekistan, formed during their manufacture and returned from migration units and registration of citizenship of law enforcement bodies and consular departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan for replacement.

The migration and citizenship divisions of the internal affairs agencies and the consular departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are responsible for recording and destruction of biometric passports and biometric travel documents overdue and recognized in established procedure as invalid.
