Open Day Held at Uzbekhydroenergo as Part of Anti-Corruption Month

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 December, an Open Day was held at the Kadyrin Hydroelectric Cascade branch of JSC Uzbekhydroenergo, located in the Kibray district. The event was organized by the Compliance Control and Anti-Corruption Department.

The Open Day took place as part of Anti-Corruption Month, timed to coincide with International Anti-Corruption Day, which is observed annually on 9 December.

Participants included heads of departments and divisions of the Executive Office, branch employees, youth representatives, and members of the media.

It was emphasized that combating corruption is one of the key priorities of Uzbekistan’s state policy.

In recent years, the country has actively implemented reforms and mechanisms aimed at preventing corrupt practices. In this context, Uzbekhydroenergo has consistently carried out a range of measures to ensure transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in its operations.

During the main part of the event, a presentation was given on the company’s achievements in anti-corruption efforts, promoting openness, and improving corporate governance. Participants were also briefed on ongoing projects related to HPP operations, digitalization, human resources policies, and procurement coordination.

Sh. Karataev, Head of the Compliance Control and Anti-Corruption Department, provided a detailed overview of the practical steps undertaken within the company to prevent corruption-related violations.

I. Sunatov, Head of Human Resources Management and Development, presented information on staff selection mechanisms, employee training and professional development, as well as key criteria applied in forming personnel.

E. Mamatov, Head of the Procurement Coordination Department, delivered an overview of the principles of public procurement — transparency, competition, and objectivity — and outlined existing measures and procedures that ensure procurement transparency and mitigate corruption risks.

H. Juraeva, Chief Specialist of the Press Service, analyzed the work of government agencies in promoting transparency and openness and highlighted the practices being implemented within JSC Uzbekhydroenergo.

At the conclusion of the event, specialists answered questions from participants and journalists, providing detailed explanations on relevant topics.

After the main session, guests toured the Kadyrin Hydroelectric Plant (HPP-3), part of the Kadyrin cascade.
