Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- One person died as a result of a gas explosion in Kasansay district of Namangan region.

The incident occurred today at 07:30 in one of the residential buildings in the Nurabad mahalla of Kasansay district of Namangan region.

As a result of the explosion, the structure of the house collapsed.

Five people received injuries and were hospitalized. One of them died.

A criminal case has been initiated under paragraph "a" part 2 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Violation of the safety rules for mining, construction or explosive work, resulting in the death of a person), an investigation is underway.
