On the basis of proposals of makhalla activists, instructions were given to responsible persons

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 31May, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented a project on the improvement of the Chirchik River.

The section of the river passing through Tashkent is 16 kilometers. On this site it is planned to narrow the channel and build various infrastructure facilities. At the first stage, a 5-kilometer stretch between Akhangaran and Bektemir streets is being put in order.

Here the President got acquainted with the construction progress.

Work on this section will be carried out in 2021-2022. The result will be an area of over 34 hectares.

The project consists of four stages. At the second stage, another 5 kilometers will be narrowed, at the third and fourth stages - 3 kilometers of the channel. 

In total, as a result of these works, 210 hectares of additional land will be opened. The territory will be landscaped, recreation areas, walking paths and local roads will be built. It is also planned to build modern housing, production and service facilities.

Emphasizing the importance of this area for the ecology of the city, the head of state ordered to plant more trees and increase the number of recreational areas for the population.

A meeting was held with the participation of khokims of the city and districts of Tashkent, heads of sectors, chairmen of makhallas.

Measures have been identified for the development of entrepreneurship, especially in the service sector, and the creation of additional jobs due to the correct direction of the allocated funds. The possibility of creating 181 thousand jobs through the implementation of 5 thousand 400 projects for the organization of service facilities in makhallas was indicated.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to social issues. Over the past period of this year, 19.5 thousand young people out of 24 thousand included in the "youth notebook" have been provided with employment. In the capital, practical assistance was provided to all of the more than 16 thousand women included in the "women’s notebook".

At the suggestions of representatives of the older generation and activists, responsible persons were given instructions to improve makhallas, repair roads and water supply networks, and improve medical care. The importance of vocational guidance, involving young people in sports competitions and clubs was emphasized.

- This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the independence of our native Uzbekistan. We must celebrate this holiday with high spirits and great results. We need to find new facets, new opportunities to make the people happy, the President said.
