Ombudsman investigates the circumstances of the death of an inmate in Almalyk Prison
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An inmate has passed away at Almalyk Correctional Facility No. 14. The administration of the penitentiary institution stated that the death occurred on 14 February due to a myocardial infarction and severe pancreatitis. However, the deceased's relatives suggest the possibility of torture.
From 26 to 28 January, he met with his mother and did not complain of health issues.
