Oman and Uzbekistan Discuss New Areas of Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation of businesswomen from the Sultanate of Oman, led by Siham bint Ahmad Al Harthy, Chairperson of Funun Hospitality and Project Management LLC, is currently visiting Uzbekistan.

As part of the visit, the delegation met with Shakhlo Ibragimova, Deputy Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Alisher Shaikhov, Advisor to the Chairperson.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the expansion of economic and trade cooperation, the implementation of new joint projects, and the promotion of women’s entrepreneurship.

Special attention was given to cooperation opportunities in the field of Islamic finance, including the introduction of crowdfunding mechanisms—a collective investment system that allows many participants to contribute small amounts online to support business or social initiatives.

The Omani side shared its experience in this area and expressed readiness to assist in developing and promoting a culture of crowdfunding in Uzbekistan.

Following the talks, the parties also reached agreements to cooperate in the construction, healthcare, and tourism sectors, as well as to strengthen interaction between women entrepreneurs of both countries.
