Olimjon Umarov Appointed as Deputy Head of PM Secretariat
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Olimjon Umarov has returned to the Cabinet of Ministers and has been appointed Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.
Prior to the new appointment, he served as First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, where he oversaw digitalization and the introduction of modern technologies in government agencies.
Olimjon Umarov was born in 1985 in Tashkent. He holds a higher education degree from the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, which he graduated from in 2007, and from Sungkyunkwan University in the Republic of Korea, where he completed his studies in 2017.
In 2020–2021, Umarov worked as Advisor to the Prime Minister and Head of the Department for IT Development, Telecommunications, and Innovation Activities.
