OIC Secretary-General holds talks at MFERIT

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 June, the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan held negotiations with a delegation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), headed by the Secretary-General Iyad Ameen Madani.

During the meeting the current state and prospects of further strengthening practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OIC, as well as expansion of mutually beneficial trade-economic, investment and financial ties with the member countries of the organization has been discussed.

The sides emphasized the importance attached to the forthcoming chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC Member States in 2016 and a regular session of the Council in the city of Tashkent.
