Number of Uzbek population grows by 435,700 people

Number of population of Uzbekistan grew by 435,700 people in 2011 and, according to the preliminary data of the State Statistics Committee, it reached 29.559 million as of 1 January 2012.
According to the State Statistics Committee, some 626,900 people were born in Uzbekistan in 2011 (the birth rate - 21.4 pro mil) and about 144,600 people died (death rate -4.9 pro mil).
The committee recalled that the birth rate was 22.4 pro mil and death rate – 4.9 pro mil in 2010.
According to the committee, some 51% or 15.069 million people live in urban places and 49% or 14.489 million people – in rural areas.
